Kiwanis Champions Awards Nominations Off to a Strong Start

Aug 25, 2026 | Kiwanis Champions Awards

The inaugural Kiwanis Champions Awards are already showing just how many remarkable people and organizations are making a difference throughout our community.

Since nominations opened on August 14, the Kiwanis Club of Bradford has received 36 nominations representing 20 different individuals and organizations.

We are grateful to everyone who has already taken the time to tell us about someone whose service, generosity, leadership, or dedication deserves to be recognized.

Where Nominations Stand

As of August 25, nominations have been submitted across all four award categories:

  • Rising Star Award: 15 nominations
  • Brighter Future Award: 13 nominations
  • Everyday Hero Award: 7 nominations
  • Valor Award: 1 nomination

The response so far has been encouraging, but these numbers also tell us that there are still stories we need your help finding.

In particular, we would love to hear more about the first responders and others in our community whose courage, compassion, quick thinking, or extraordinary service may have gone largely unnoticed.

Many of the most deserving people never seek recognition for themselves. Their stories are usually known by the coworkers, neighbors, families, volunteers, teachers, coaches, and community members who have seen what they do firsthand.

Who Are We Missing?

Think about the people you encounter in our community.

Who consistently goes above and beyond?

Who has made a lasting difference in the life of a child or family?

Who gives their time without expecting anything in return?

Who stepped forward when someone needed help?

Who deserves a thank you that they may never otherwise receive?

If someone comes to mind, don’t assume someone else has already nominated them.

The Kiwanis Champions Awards were created to help shine a light on the people and organizations whose actions make the Bradford area a better place to live.

Nominations Remain Open Through September 18

There is still time to tell us their story.

Nominations are open to the public, and you do not need to be a Kiwanis member to participate.

Help us find the champions among us — especially the ones whose names we may not know yet.
