Kiwanis Kraft Days Draws Incredible Community Turnout

May 4, 2026 | Kiwanis Kraft Days

The latest Kiwanis Kraft Days event brought an incredible turnout to the Bradford Area Public Library, with families from across the community coming together for a morning full of creativity, connection, and hands-on fun. As part of the ongoing mission of the Kiwanis Club of Bradford, Kiwanis Kraft Days continues to provide a welcoming space where children and families can create, learn, and enjoy time together.

Held on May 2 from 10 a.m. to noon, the event featured a wide variety of craft stations designed for all ages and skill levels, with activities ranging from simple creations for younger children to more detailed projects for older participants . From woven crafts and painted mandalas to handmade jewelry and decorative keepsakes, every table was filled with energy and imagination.

But what truly made the event special was the team of dedicated volunteers who made it all possible.

A tremendous thank you goes to Nancy Dryden, who served as Organizer and Craft Supervisor, ensuring everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Kathy Little brought delicious homemade cookies (a crowd favorite) and helped children create butterfly crafts. Nick Ward generously volunteered his time to teach bracelet-making, while Paula Vecellio helped kids design meaningful Mother’s Day cards.

Chris Lathrop guided participants in painting mandalas on recycled vinyl records, turning everyday materials into works of art. Stacy Williams, current President, jumped in to assist with crafts throughout the event, while Dr. Dick Dryden welcomed families at the door and helped guide them through the experience.

Supporting every corner of the event, Dean Baur played a key role in keeping things running—especially by handing out cookies and water to keep everyone energized. Elyse Young and Angeleena Medsker worked closely with children on the decoupage shell craft, helping them create elegant and unique pieces. I also had the opportunity to assist at the decoupage station, capture photos, and help wherever needed throughout the day.

Kiwanis Kraft Days continues to be a shining example of what happens when a community comes together with a shared purpose. The smiles, creativity, and strong turnout made it clear—this event is something truly special.

We’re already looking forward to the next one.
